Client error message

Postby irvfrost » Sun Jul 25, 2010 12:49 pm

I have xpatcher client deployed on 3 machines. 2 work great, but one computer suddenly started throwing the message 'Error sending the HTTP request to the server.' I'm trying to configure the computer to get rid of the error but was wondering what exactly causes that error to be throw up from the client? The weird thing is, it was working on this machine...it got about a 1/4 of the way throw the updating of the project and then suddenly the error. I've tried rebooting the computer, removing all the files from the downloaded directory and still the same. I also tried the demo file ClientCFG_Water Invaders_Main.Xp2 on this machine and get the same error. Any insight would be great.

Thanks

Looking into it, most likely the problem is firewall or http permissions.

Ok, after some further investigation on this machine, we apparently had ie setup at one time to use a blackberry as a modem and for some reason xpatcher was trying to use the blackberry (which wasnt connected) instead of the lan. After we removed the blackberry from the internet options on the computer it resolved the issue. Thanks for checking into it.

Glad to hear it was a configuration problem and that you have it fixed.
